All plants need macro and micro nutrients throughout their life to grow to their full potential. Deer eat these plants and obtain those nutrients to support their growth and development. These nutrients may not be available for the plant to take up if your soil pH isn’t in the correct range even after you apply additional fertilizer. The foundation of a good fertility program is an accurate soil sample.

Soil pH is Very Important

As you can see from the chart your ideal soil pH is from 6.5-7. That is where most of your essential nutrients are most available for the plant to be able to uptake them in quantities that are sufficient for the growth of your plant. If its below 6.0 most labs will recommend you apply lime. Most of our soils in the hills of Mississippi will require lime over time.

Super 13

Super 13 is our take on triple 13 blended fertilizer. We use pelletized lime where most people use inert Ag filler. When you apply our Super 13 you get a maintenance rate of lime at the time of application. It’s a value added product for a competitive price.

The soil is where your nutrients are stored

Unfortunately most of us are in the hills of Mississippi and we have naturally poor fertility. In most cases your food plot will respond to fertilizer applications but to be sure you are applying the right nutrients at the right rate be sure to take soil samples every three years.
